I applaud the author for writing these books because they are totally accurate and what you can expect to experience in Thailand if you are not forewarned and ready to accept the dark side of this intriguing country. Thailand is a wonderful place as the author often states but its culture is highly deceptive and that is what most farangs visiting the country do not fully understand. I have many years of experience with Thailand and Thai people, I'm actually married to a Thai lady and I can say without a doubt that these books are the real thing.The writing of the book does have some typos and grammatical errors, but the message is there for those who wish to know and basically it is.... don't trust anyone in Thailand and be forever on your guard. If you realise this then you will maximise the enjoyment of your time in Thailand and minimize the chances of something bad happening to you.

Scam number 51-selling this book, what a joke-there are far better scams in Thailand than this "prude" would ever imagine.
I recommend it.
Great advice for anyone planning on visiting Thailand for vacation or business. Although it is tough to look admirably at some of the Thai people after reading this, I think that this book is more of a "heads up" for trouble rather than an excoriation of Thailand or the people there.
Well worth the money.
If you are a senior male western citizen & contemplating retiring in Thailand, this is a must read book as the author tells it like is. I have been there many times & thanks to a good friend of mine, he has been through all the events that can happen in Thailand to a Western male senior citizen who decides to retire there. His retirement life has turned out very well for him as he has finally found a lovely more mature Thai lady who really respects him for what he really is.
