Millions have been locked up, following the discovery of Earth Flow and test results from the DNA Police. The wolves have stopped howling and the dogs no longer bark. Will Long River, a Native American, a Cherokee, is running for his life in New Orleans on Mardi Gras Day. Brought up with Cherokee traditions, he was never told the story of the ancient Ravens and that story was kept from him by his mother because she feared this very day might come true.

Author Jerry Ellis was the first person in the modern world to walk the 900 mile route of the Trail of Tears. His book about that journey, Walking the Trail, One Man's Journey Along the Cherokee Trail of Tears, was nominated by Random House for a Pulitzer Prize and a National Book Award. He has lectured about the Cherokee and the Trail of Tears in Europe, Asia, Africa and the USA. He is the author of eight books, including Cherokee History For Indian Lovers that contains many historic photos.

Praise for Jerry Ellis's book, Walking the Trail, One Man's Journey Along the Cherokee Trail of Tears

"Come along on the Trail with Jerry Ellis. You'll love very step of it." Tony Hillerman, bestselling author of Najavo Tribal Police crime/mystery series.

"Walking the Trail is a wonderful book which should be read by anyone interested in our history or Native Americans or very good writing." Jim Harrison, bestselling author of Legends of the Fall, the movie version staring Brad Pitt and Anthony Hopkins.

"Reading Jerry Ellis's account of his modern-day trek along the old Cherokee Trail of Tears is better than receiving a series of letters from a perceptive, generous-hearted and imaginative traveler." Dee Brown, bestselling author of Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee.

Native American ThrillerPart One edition by Jerry Ellis Literature Fiction eBooks

This thrilling part one begins in New Orleans, quickly developing the character into someone you are comfortable with, who then draws you into a web of intrigue that mesmerizes you as the character begins to emotionally interact with secondary characters whos actions draw you further and further into this web until the character is trapped into facing reality from the perspective you also find yourself in; native American wizardry. Extremely well written, and a pleasure to read. I am so ready to continue on, a genuine cliff hanger, and Will (lead character) is so open and honest.

Awesome first chapter. Looking very forward to chapter two. Couldn't not put the kindle down. Superb thriller. What a great job. You are awesome. Thanks
I got this tonight and I am already finished reading it! Jerry's writing keeps one riveted, eager for the turning of the page.

I bought "Walking the Trail" from in January and after that, I knew I had found a way to discover more about my Cherokee heritage and customs; understanding the reasons for things that are inherent to me, that came from having Cherokee ancestors.

I loved this first part of his latest work, and will be waiting patiently for Part 2.

Well done, Jerry!!!

Lulu
Mr. Ellis interweaves Cherokee history into his suspenseful story of Will, running for his life during Mardi Gras. The vivid descriptions throughout the story enable one to feel as if they are with Will as he travels out of New Orleans to a place of hiding. Part One left me wanting more, and I can't wait for the rest of the story!
I really enjoyed this book and am really looking forward to the next book in the series. After reading so many suspense and mystery books in my life time, it was refreshing to have a book with fresh characters and a fresh plot to read. Kept my interest throughout and was well written and edited.
I brought this book the first day it came out. It is well written and it keeps you wanting more. I love that facts it refers to the history of the Cherokee. How also spiritual is very important to all native people. I for one am Cherokee and I look to my brother the Hawk for help. Like some many I am looking to see what comes next for Will Nancy and what is the going
on with the animals. Thank Jerry for a good read.
Jerry Ellis does it again! With homicidal Ravens in tow, Native American Thriller took me on a heart-pounding ride as it weaves a tale of one man's journey to his true self...via a little side trip through the magic and beautiful debauchery of New Orleans. But Part One of this book makes it clear that somewhere in the North is where Whip-Poor-Will's ultimate test begins; and that's when the proverbial splatter will hit the fan. So right now I'm just salivating...waiting for Part Two!
I would have read this book no matter what review or accolades I may have read just because of who wrote it. Let that be a testament to his previous 7 books. If you haven't read them yet, do your soul and spirit a favor and get your page turning fingers all licked up. I've been eagerly awaiting this book since I first discovered that it was in the works. If I thought my excitement would subside because I finally got to read it, I WAS WRONG! I am more on the edge of my seat now than ever. I cannot wait to read part two. This book reads like fast food--quick and easy, but satisfies like a 5 star feast--rich with satisfying, curious layers. I'm dying to find out what happens to Will. Did he break a promise? Will he remember his past? Who's chasing him and why? What the heck is going on with the dogs? I urge you to buy this book and join me on the mystery train. If you've walked, marched, or rode with Jerry before, then you know this ride will be an uplifting reward, if not...what are you waiting for?
